Watercolour Basics
This class is designed for the beginner, or near beginner, who is looking to try this fun and challenging medium in a creative environment. Jennifer will guide you through basic techniques to get you comfortable with the medium, and excited about exploring the endless possibilities watercolour can offer. Washes, wet-in-wet, glazing, textural effects, colour mixing and composition are just some of the topics covered in this extensive 8 week course.

Botanical Watercolours
Start off your week by exploring the beauty and vitality of natural forms through the creative potential of watercolour. Working from live observation, Jennifer will guide students through a variety of styles and creative approaches to representation. Students will benefit from individual guidance, intermediate colour mixing, and advanced watercolour techniques. Venture into the artistic process and get inspired to create paintings of your favorite botanical specimens.

Drawing Essentials
Are you convinced you can only draw a stick figure? Come prove yourself wrong! This exciting class will take the beginner through the principals of shading, value, perspective and observation, while focusing on gaining confidence and enjoying the creative process. Explore the possibilities of graphite, charcoal, cont้, and ink, and open up a world of potential for drawing and sketching.

Watercolour Studio
Are you ready to take your watercolour skills to the next level? This class is designed for students with some previous watercolour experience who want to improve their skills and get re-inspired to make new paintings. A variety of techniques will be explored, including pulled edges, glazing, dry-brush, wet-in-wet and liquid mask. Advanced colour mixing and new project ideas will be discussed in a fun classroom environment.

First Steps in Watercolour
This workshop is for the absolute beginner who is curious to try their hand at watercolour. Learn how to make basic paintings using washes, wet-in-wet and dry brush techniques. Youll discover how the paint flows through the water and blends on its own, creating amazing spontaneous effects. No need to purchase materials or supplies, just come ready to be creative. You will be amazed at your results!

Luminous Watercolours
Bring sparkle and life to your paintings with tips and techniques for creating luminous watercolours that seem to glow from within. Emphasis will be on learning to control the medium through the balance of spontaneity and controlled pulled edges. Learn where to leave the white of the paper and how to mix clean, vivid colours. Come with stretched paper and a subject of your choice and say goodbye to dull, overworked paintings.

Colour Mixing for Watercolour
Learn to mix velvet blacks, deep rich reds, luminous browns, and all the colours in between. This informative, interactive workshop will cover basic to advanced colour mixing for the unique properties of watercolour paint. Students will learn to mix with complementary colour pairings, alter colours through glazes, mix from a limited palette, and gain a better understanding of the colour wheel. Discover ways to apply all of this theory to your paintings and create clean, luminous watercolours without the mud.

Soft Blending in Oils
Learn to blend with oil paints to create photographic realism and soft, lush effects. Join Jennifer for a day of tips, secrets and explorations to help you achieve soft seamless surfaces and rich colour transitions. Colour mixing, mediums, and techniques for paint application will be covered in an inspirational studio environment. This workshop will focus on realism, but will be tailored to suit individual interests and subject matter.

Textural Effects in Watercolour
Creative methods of paint application will be explored using sponges, old paint brushes, ruling pens and toothbrushes. Discover the amazing spontaneous effects that salt, saran wrap and masking fluid have in watercolour paint. Learn how simple it can be to quickly make realistic trees, rocks, grasses and waves, as you apply these effects into your own landscape paintings.
